[HELP] M4V file gets corrupted after encoding, please help!
#1
Sad
Hello! When I check the iTunes compatibility option (which changes the file extension from MP4 to M4V), the resulting video after conversion is corrupted and cannot be opened at all. If I uncheck the option (so the video remains in MP4 format), everything works normally without any problems.

I created two videos: one corrupted M4V file and one working MP4 file. Then I loaded the corrupted M4V file back into the same program and told it to convert it from M4V to MP4, and it did not produce any errors. The video plays normally.
So the file is not actually corrupted from the beginning; there is simply something wrong with it. In the Windows file properties, the M4V file doesn't even have basic information such as the video duration, bitrate, etc., whereas the MP4 file has all of this information correctly listed.

Please, somebody, help me!

Please, share a debug output of the job processing, so I can later try to reproduce this. (Read the sticky)

Looking at the debug output the issue seems to be that for some reason there is no muxing call.
After encoding the raw m4v file with NVEncC, a muxing call with mp4box should follow.
This does not happen.
=> I can reproduce the problem and will look into it. Will report back. Smile

Yes, I talked to ChatGPT a lot about this, and it said the same thing. Apparently, there is a bug in the program. Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this!
I also tried using the standard x264 encoder, but that didn’t help either, so the issue is not related to NVENC.
I hope you’ll be able to fix this problem in a future update. Other than that, it’s an amazing program!

Uploaded a new dev which should correctly add the muxing call.
(created files are no corrupted, they are just raw avc files)
