Getting rid of purple fields
#1
Hi Selur,
Please have a look at the following image.

https://ibb.co/wF2htp7Y

Those purple fields are part of the original recording. How can I get rid of them using Hybrid ?
Currently, I run de-interlace with top field first, and it's been working really well on my videos, but this one is a bit problematic. I know that does not solve the problem, however what option might help running at the same time as de-interlace ?

Thanks for any help

Some chroma denoising might help, without an actual sample of what you feed into Hybrid, I can't really suggest any settings.
So atm. my suggestion would be to try different denoisers with different settings, but only apply them on the chroma.

Here's the clip. Don't worry about the flicker. The purple fields are the problem I need to sort.

Okay, totally different from what I expected from the screenshot.
To get you started, you can lessen that a lot by using SpotLess with a high temoral radius (like 6) multiple interrations (i.e. 5) and only apply the chroma portion (merge: Y=0,U=1,V=1).
Here I applied that twice. Smile (using FilterQueue instead of FilterOrder)
clipMerge = clip # Spot removal using SpotLess clip = SpotLess.SpotLess(clip, radT=6, asearch=5, pel=1, mStart=True, mEnd=True, iterations=5, tools={'mv': 'mvutensils', 'expr': 'akarin', 'tmedian': 'zsmooth', 'ttempsmooth': 'zsmooth', 'boxblur': 'std', 'hysteresis': 'hysteresis'}) clip = core.std.Merge(clipMerge,clip,[0, 1, 1]) # merge filtered and unfiltered by plane clipMerge = clip # Spot removal using SpotLess clip = SpotLess.SpotLess(clip, radT=6, asearch=5, pel=1, mStart=True, mEnd=True, iterations=5, tools={'mv': 'mvutensils', 'expr': 'akarin', 'tmedian': 'zsmooth', 'ttempsmooth': 'zsmooth', 'boxblur': 'std', 'hysteresis': 'hysteresis'}) clip = core.std.Merge(clipMerge,clip,[0, 1, 1]) # merge filtered and unfiltered by plane

But this will be really slow. Smile
