Quote:I didn't see NLMeans as an option, but I switched to SMDegrain and that seems to run through vspipe as expected.
you need to scroll to the right a bit.

After some more investigating the code of the plugin.

KNLMeansCL only accepts OpenCL devices with FULL_PROFILE. rusticl reports your RX 9070 XT as EMBEDDED_PROFILE (clinfo: “Device Profile EMBEDDED_PROFILE”), because radeonsi offers fewer image arguments than the full profile requires.
Sadly. nothing you install on the Mesa side changes that.
Options I see, atm. :
  • In the KNLMeansCL filter, switch Tools → NLMeans to knlmvk (Vulkan, should work with your RADV driver) or vszip (CPU).
  • Install ROCm’s OpenCL runtime. (assuming it's available. It supports gfx1201 and reports the full profile, so knlm should work.)
  • The next build will stop offering KNLMeansCL on embedded-profile devices.
iirc. ROCm 6.4 or later should support the RX 9070 XT (gfx1201) on Ubuntu 24.04 / Mint 22.3.

Ps.: will upload a new dev in ~1/2 hour which should stop offering KNLMeansCL on embedded-profile devices and thus automatically fallback to knlmvk or vszip.

Uploaded a new dev (Hybrid-2026.11.02.1-x86_64_oldGlibc) which should add the additional guards around klmn.
Let me know whether this version fixes the problem for you. (also try switching the Tools->NLMeans selection, depending on your system one or the other should be faster)
