Why is Hybrid still using SVT-AV1 4.0.1?
#1
Hi Selur,

I've noticed that Hybrid is still using SVT-AV1 4.0.1.

Is there a particular reason why newer versions haven't been integrated yet?

I'm just curious whether this is due to compatibility issues, changes in encoder parameters, or simply because an update hasn't been a priority.

Thanks for your continued work on Hybrid!

Best regards

4.0.1 was the latest when I packaged the release, latest dev contains v4.3.0.

Dev versions are in the 'experimental'-folder of my GoogleDrive, which is linked on the download page.

Hi Selur,
You previously mentioned that the latest dev build includes SVT-AV1 4.3.0.

I've now downloaded
Hybrid-2026.11.04.1-x86_64_oldGlibc.AppImage
, but Hybrid still reports SVT-AV1 4.0.1 under Config → Tools → Versions.

I also checked the bundled
SvtAv1EncApp
binary directly, and it reports:
SVT-AV1 v4.0.1 (release)

I checked two mounted Hybrid AppImages, and both contain the same encoder binary (identical Build-ID).

Could you please clarify whether SVT-AV1 4.3.0 is already included in the latest Linux dev AppImage, or whether the update is still pending for the Linux builds?

Thanks!

DOH,... I checked on Windows not Linux.
I checked: https://github.com/Selur/HybridDeploy/bl...d-tools.sh
there the older version is still used
=> will update later (afk. atm.)

Hi Selur,
No worries, that explains it! Smile

Thanks for checking and clarifying. I noticed that

build-tools.sh
already references SVT-AV1 v4.3.0 now.

I'll keep an eye out for the next Linux AppImage.

Thanks again for your work!

Hi Selur,

I just noticed that you've uploaded an updated Hybrid AppImage. Naturally, I downloaded it straight away and gave it a try.
Thanks a lot for the update. I really appreciate it!

I've also switched to Fedora Workstation 45, which comes with glibc 2.44. This means I can now use your regular Linux builds without having to worry about glibc compatibility issues.

Thanks again for your continued work on Hybrid!

Regards
