[HELP] the speed changes
#1
Hi,
I want to encode .mov files to mkv file. but the out put movie speed changes. for example the 36 second became 22 second. I use the same setting and config on mp4 files and no problem. but seems hybrid has problem with .mov files. non of options from filter speed changes is enable but still problem not fixed.
when I enable the scale out put frame rate from filtering tab and set it's value to 59.94 fps speed of film get fix, but the time of file(in mpc and km player) increases to 255:28:55!!!!!!!! (of cores it shows around 36 second )and I can not move the film forward or backward and it stops. how can i fix this speed changes or increasing time?

Without a debug output, like mentioned in the sticky.
My guess is that your source is vfr, but mediainfo doesn't detect it as such. Enable the timecode extraction for all files under Config->Misc->Automation sonewhere and try whether that helps.

Dear selur
Thanks for reply,
I enabled the the timecode extraction, but still have the same problem.

Sorry, but without a sample (to reproduce the issue) or at least a debug output I can't say anything else.

Cu Selur

well this videos are captured with iPhone and they have huge sizes and I want to change they size.
If I send the properties of this files(media info), would it help?

Okay, video definitly is vfr.
Frame rate mode : Variable
Frame rate : 29.970 fps
Minimum frame rate : 28.571 fps
Maximum frame rate : 30.000 fps
So Hybrid should already extract the time codes.

Try whether enabling "Config->Decoding->CFR output" helps.
File size : 73.7 MiB
Duration : 35s 893ms
doesn't seem like such a huge size,..

CFR out put didn't help.
actually I try in this file because it is not huge.
other files I have are about 6mins and 1.3 G size if I try on this files it takes 1h to encode them.

Since you don't want to share a debug output of what you are doing, nor a sample, which would alliw me to reproduce the issue, I don't know how I could help any further.

it works. I disabled the last things you said and enabled just the CFR output and it worked. thank you so much.
just one more question.I changed the encoding mode to specific filesize/bitrate(2-pass), and put the bitrate on 1000. the encoded file speed is fine, but when i want to move the film a little forward or backward it goes 4 or 5 second around of that section. in constant rate factor mode this is not happening. how can I fix this?

Jmping around is related to teh pkayer and the key frame placement. It's not much influenced by whether you chose crf ir 2oass encoding.
