Enable Vapoursynth in Hybrid - Linux Manjaro/Arch
#71
Hi,
I try to use Hybrid with Cachyos (Arch) and appimage.
I see in console that it tries to find vapoursynt in these location:
'/usr/lib/vapoursynth' doesn't exist
'/usr/local/lib/vapoursynth' doesn't exist

The default install location of the official vapoursynth package's executable is in '/usr/bin/vapoursynth', but if I make symlinks to one the above path, it still can't find it and I don't know why.
Do I still need to make misc.ini file manually to use vapoursynth on linux? As in Hybrid it shows "no Xynth" grayed out.

a. Best use the App image nowadays (that should work fine)
b. Hybrid should check tons of other locations
c. '/usr/bin/vapoursynth' seems strange since aside from vspipe there should be no binary file in Vapoursynth

Not sure where the libraries are on Cachyos, but either share some details or create a misc.ini.

Ps.: I would recommend using the latest dev ArchImage.

in this state it seems the official appimage does not work with the official vapoursynth package at least with arch based distros even with the right path that it tries to find 'vapoursynth' file.

Cachyos is using the same vapoursynth package structure as Arch. you can check every path and file of package at bottom of this official page (package files section):
https://packages.cachyos.org/package/cac...apoursynth

'usr/bin/vapoursynth' is not a binary, but an executable script.

my goal would be to use the official appimage and vapoursynth to avoid to install its tons of additional dependecies and using aur repo.
as far as I see on your download page (https://www.selur.de/downloads) there is no other 'image' for arch but user made package in aur repo with tons of dependecies that I would like to avoid if other 'cleaner' method is exists as on your download page it says the basic tools are included in appimage already except vapoursynth.

edit: I tried out the binary from https://www.selur.de/files/hybrid_downlo..._qt642.zip that aur arch package points to, first time did segfault and dumped core, second time it opened but it also did not find vapoursynth that installed from distro package and does not use misc.ini as I see.

The latest dev AppImages come with Python, Vapoursynth and the filters included,.... No additional downloads or installs are needed.

Hybrid will not work with that Vapoursynth version, since I'm still working on porting some filters to support Vapoursynth R80 and newer.

Ps.: I just tested dev ArchImage on CachyOS without a problem.

ohh, didn't know that its filters needs older vapoursynth anyway.

I didn't see the dev version of linux appimage's link on the download page but I found it.
It's so heavy 750MB in filesize, but it indeed seems successfully find its vapoursynth.

for others who would like to download it, its location is here:

thanks!
