[GUIDE] HAVC Filter User Guide
#1
I wrote a user guide for filter Hybrid Automatic Video Colorizer (aka DDeoldify), that should help in understanding the filter usage.

For the users that already known this filter could be interesting read the chapter: 4.2 - Advanced coloring using adjusted reference frames

If something is unclear please ask and I will try to answer.

Dan

P.S.
This guide is also available on GitHub at the following link: HAVC User Guide, at this link it will be always possible to get the most updated version of the guide.
If you like this project please add a star in GitHub.

EDIT: last version: 1.3.2 - January 2025

Thanks Dan and a Happy New Years.   I was looking forward to such a useful guide. Can't wait till the next Hybrid release to try this out.

You could use the current dev version.

Dev versions are in the 'experimental'-folder of my GoogleDrive, which is linked on the download page.

For a fair comparison, at the following link is available the trailer used in the chapter 4.2 - Advanced coloring using adjusted reference frames, colored using a well known commercial software: Casablanca (1941) HD Trailer.colored.mp4
While at this link is available the trailer colored using HAVC with adjusted reference frames: Casablanca (1941) HD Trailer.HAVC.mp4

I think that the difference is so evident that is not necessary to add any comment.

=> giving up on Hybrid on MacOS for the time being, since I lack the motivation look into compiling all the Vapoursynth stuff.

You should move this post to: Hybrid on Mac Silicon  Angel

Spectacular results, the colors stay consistent.  It would be interesting to add into this comparison the trailer without the use of HAVC.  To demonstrate the full impact of this newest method.
