[HELP] Telecine Vatiations Problems, Fixes and Questions...
#51
Yes, variable frame rate. I posted explanation earlier here https://forum.selur.net/thread-1942-post...l#pid12804 I came to conclusion that it is a bug (or some sort of protection from piracy) in some DVDs when some VOBs are tagged "23.976 Progressive 2:3 Pulldown" and another VOBs are tagged as "29.97 Interlaced Top Field List":

As a result final MKV file created MakeMKV from these VOBs use some incorrect
tag "Variable frame rate mode" and in addition "Original frame rate" which gives a lot of problems and incorerct telecine result when opened in Hybrid:

But if remux this .MKV to .TS using tsNuxerGUI, file tag changed to normalĀ  "29.97 Interlaced Top Field List" and there is no problem anymore. Seems tsMuxerGUI somehow analyze and detects that "23.976 Progressive 2:3 Pulldown" is actually incorrect and use "29.97 Interlaced Top Field List" and corrects container tag.

sounds more like badly authored content, but if you found a solution that works for you, nice Smile
